Major
Fernando “ABBA” Aguilar is a C-130 Navigator from the Argentinean Air Force. Graduated
from Air Force Academy (EAM) as an Alferez (1st Lieutenant) in 1998. He joined the 1st Squadron
(c-130) in 2001.
Accounting for
over 2150 hours of flying experience as a C-130 Navigator, he became in love
with the Hercules from a young age. As a child, being an FAA General´s son living 150 meters from the main
runway, was hard for him to avoid the
fact that a C-130 was landind or taking off, that sound ignited in his heart
that love for the 34 tons four turboprop beast.
He writes
aviation and military history articles for Aeroespacio Magazine. His passion and admiration for crews and
planes conveys in every article he writes. With experiences ranging from Argentina to New Zealand, Australia to Norway and even Antarctica... he turns his
passion into writing.
